I am 5 ' 2 ", small construction, muscular legs and not these fit well over my calves so that most other rain boots. I have no trouble finding my jeans or leggings or heavy sock down in and they don't rub or rubbing. they are convenient for a quick trip out, but I don't wear these on an 8-mile hike. Save your Vibrams for that. Sturdy, warm (even without SmartWool) and easy to get on and off. I highly recommend it, especially for our days PNW sloppy.
